5 leadership statements to keep in mind

You are expected to be a leader more than a manager.

That is, in summary, the key message you are being told by articles, by your own management and probably by your team as well.

However, whether you are a micro-manager or a leader (remember: it is not a self-proclaimed assertion, it’s best if your team acknowledges it and if it is demonstrated in practice) it is worth keeping in mind that a number of intangible truths will apply to you.

I share below a set of 5 statements and valuable principles that will help you increase your self-awareness:

#1- The team reflects the image of the manager, and a manager is only as successful as the team itself.

#2- People leave managers, not companies.

#3- A-class managers recruit A-class people, B-class managers recruit C-class people.

#4- Manage yourself; or you won’t be able to manage anyone.

#5- The culture of any organization is shaped by the worst behavior the leader is willing to tolerate. – Gruenert, Whitaker
