➡️ You are expected to be a leader more than a manager.
That is, in summary, the key message you are being told by articles, by your own management and probably by your team as well.
However, whether you are a micro-manager or a leader (remember: it is not a self-proclaimed assertion, it’s best if your team acknowledges it and if it is demonstrated in practice) it is worth keeping in mind that a number of intangible truths will apply to you.
1️⃣ The team reflects the image of the manager, and a manager is only as successful as the team itself.
2️⃣ Managers in Class A recruit Class A candidates, while managers in Class B recruit Class C candidates.
3️⃣ Employees don’t leave companies, they leave managers.
4️⃣ Manage yourself; or you won’t be able to manage anyone.
5️⃣The culture of any organization is shaped by the worst behavior the leader is willing to tolerate. – Gruenert, Whitaker
